DC output switch
 

The DC output switch allows you to set up voltage and current levels before you connect to the load.

Surprisingly, many laboratory power supplies lack this basic feature, and require you to use the AC power switch for connection and disconnection.

View Settings button

 

When the output is on, the meters show the actual voltage and current.

Pressing the View V/I Settings button enables the limit settings to be checked and adjusted at any time.


 
Best overall performance
 

Despite the improvements in high frequency switcher design, Linear regulation still offers the lowest output noise and the best transient response (recovery time from a sudden current step).

It also offers the most benign stability characteristics when driving complex load conditions.

Ultra-low noise

 

Most linear regulated power supplies offer low output noise with figures below 2mV rms being typical.

The New PL series goes a stage further with an RMS noise figure of 0.4mV and tightly specified pk-pk noise and common-mode current figures.
